Statistics in General

When I mention the word "statistics" (stats) at work or around family and friends, I usually see the back of their heads quickly there after. It's not like talking about sports, food, or movies.

People who have learned something about stats don't talk to each other much either. I don't know if it's a competitive thing, or you worry that you'll sound like you don't know what you're talking about. Again it's a conversation killer.

I'm posting some thoughts and examples of stats, analytics for the business jargon people out there, to show that there can be a plain English explanation for the methods and the finding in stats. Drop a comment if you want to say you see things differently, or you want to ask a question or an example. I'll respond as time permits.
